Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Technology in the Harmonic Egg

“Sound will be the medicine of the future.”

-Edgar Cayce

Let’s take a journey back in time some 40,000 years ago. To a time where ancient cultures relied on instruments to heal the body. The Australian aboriginal people are the first known culture to heal with sound using the didgeridoo to heal bones and diseases. Low frequency sounds of drums and rattles as well as colored light were used by the Egyptian and Babylonian cultures to speed up healing. The Greek philosopher, Pythagoras, who lived around 2,500 years ago was regarded as the Father of Harmonics. He studied different musical intervals and realized that sound, color, and harmonics could heal the physical body as well as our mind and emotions. He called this healing method “ Musical Medicine”.

Sound healing technology first appeared in 1928 when Erwin Scliephake, a German scientist, discovered that sound waves accelerated healing. Sound waves increase circulation when energy applied to the body is absorbed at the cellular level. Dr. Royal Raymod Rife, wrote extensively on the use of vibrational energy, or sound frequencies for healing. Whether it is the soothing sound of ocean waves, or the calming sound of the rain against a window or the deep reverberation of a didgeridoo, we are all affected by sound. For centuries, various cultures have harnessed the power of sound and vibrations to heal the mind, body, soul and spirit.

There are numerous therapeutic benefits to sound and light therapy. It can reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress. I have clients that have reported decreased back pain and joint discomfort. Other benefits reported are less migraines, lower blood pressure and improved sleep. Sound therapy boosts brain development. It has been shown to increase focus, creativity, as well as stabilize the mood and much more.

It goes without saying that stress is on the rise in our society today. Anyone who has lived through the past three years can attest to that fact. In a study written by the American Psychological Association 76% of adults reported “stress negatively impacted their lives, specifically their mental health, eating habits, physical health, and interest in hobbies/ activities. Psychological research on humans revealed that the effects of stress on the brain, immune system, our gene expression, susceptibility to physical illness, mental illness and subsequently on people’s ability to engage in necessary daily tasks can be long lasting and even intergenerational. Stress is a major risk to our health.”

Stress was one of the main reasons I accidentally stumbled upon sound and light therapy. I had just finished my Physician Assistant studies and was working in the operating room. I loved my job, but the long hours day after day took its toll both mentally and physically. I found myself in the doctor’s office to see if I could find some help, and I am not a person that goes to the doctor often. Much to my surprise she suggested I try sound and light therapy for detox and stress relief. I was desperate to “get back to normal” so I gave it a try. At my first session, I felt light, almost as if I was levitating in the chamber. I had childhood memories that surfaced. I felt relaxed, grounded, calm, and as I went to work that morning I felt things were shifting energetically, and it felt good.

Fast forward nearly 19 years and I discovered the Harmonic Egg, or perhaps the Harmonic Egg found me. The Harmonic Egg is a unique, patented chamber utilizing integrative energy therapy harnessing light, color, sound, frequency and vibration to activate the body’s natural ability to balance and restore itself. It is made of wood to enhance the resonance within the chamber and is constructed using sacred geometry. It is completely natural and safe. There is no plastic in the Egg construction. The lights are mercury-free LEDs, and the paint is also non-toxic. There are very low EMFs within the Egg, and it does not disturb the energy field with bluetooth, wi-fi or any other wireless transmissions. Every session is unique. Sessions are 50 minutes long with 40 minutes of consciously created music and 10 minutes of silence to allow for integration, while you relax in a zero-gravity chair. The music is not compressed MP3s but uses the full wavelength of the instrument giving the client an amazing acoustic experience.

Anyone can experience and enjoy sessions in the Harmonic Egg. It is safe for people with joint replacements, pacemakers or spinal fusions as well as for pregnant women, babies, and children. Children seem to intuitively love the sessions, and several of my younger clients fall asleep and wake up in a more peaceful mindset after the session. In my personal experience, my son, a very active, continuously moving child, almost immediately relaxes during his sessions. From this experience, children as well as adults appreciate great benefits from balancing the nervous system with this approach, and parents often tell me their kids are sleeping better and have gained a greater focus.

Data suggests that energy therapy balances the Autonomic Nervous System, promotes detoxification of the body, reduces inflammation, increases circulation and clears trauma at the cellular level. Personally, I suddenly and most unexpectedly lost my Mom this year. The grief has been painful and overwhelming. I have been doing weekly sessions to help me process and work through my grief, which have helped me immensely. We are all sound and light beings and it is only fitting to balance our bodies with sound and light therapy. I feel as a Physician Assistant, alternative therapies are so vital and can augment traditional medicine to achieve wonderful results. To have access to a modality as amazing as the Harmonic Egg is truly a gift. All of us need a modality to rest our mind, body and spirit, and find balance. I invite you to try the Harmonic Egg and experience it for yourself. I know you will love it. I am excited to meet you on your journey to better health!
